Even though NCD Control Programs were piloted in Trivandrum and Wayanad Districts, this didn’t materialize in to state program.Central Sponsered program NPCDCS was introduced In 2010 at Pathanamthitta. Later it  was expanded to Alapuzha, Trrissur, Kozhikod and Idukki Districts. In 2011 Kerala State Health Department expanded the service to the entire state covering all Fourteen Districts up to sub center level.  Logistic supply , Medicine Procurement, Camps & Clinics were all setup by mid 2012 and reporting from entire units.  Started coming from April 2012.  The program was officially inaugurated the Hon’ Health Minister Sri V.S Shivakumar on 15th December 2012 and re-named  the program as Amritam Arogyam.


Administrative Control

The Principal Secretary Health Sri Rajeev Sadhanandan is Heading the program in kerala by designing, Guiding and carefully monitoring each & every component of the program.  The State Mission Director Dr M.Beena IAS is leading the team and supervising the activities.  The program is very supported y the DHS Dr P.K. Jameela. State Program officer Dr. Pradeep Kumar as the Addl DHS in public Health.  The State level activities co-ordinated by State NCD Division lead by State Nodal Officer Dr. Bipin Gopal , the team consist Dr. Ajaymohan, JAMO (PH), Mr. Harikrishnan R, State Finance cum Logistic Officer and Smt Zeenath K, State Program Assistant.   At the District level the program is managed by District Nodal Officers under the monitoring of District Medical Officers.  The District Program Managers of every Districts also have equal responsibility of managing the program.
